Kenny Chesney new moonlighting for ESPN. Teaming up with acclaimed director Shaun Silva Nashville, country star and avid football fan has co he produced a documentary about one of the most legendary figures of all-time NCAA, former Florida Gators and current coach South Carolina gamecocks Steve Spurrier.
He Believer, which will air on August 27, will last long resume of Spurrier, including a Heisman Trophy season as the University of Florida quarterback, a nine season with San Francisco 49ers NFL and configuration registers wins in Florida and South Carolina. The Florida native also coached briefly at Duke University and in the major leagues for the Washington Redskins. The filmmakers interviewed the people closest to the big grill, both on and off the field.
"They spent a lot of time with my family, wife, children, grandchildren and others, and a lot of former players. So I hope that will be okay," Spurrier said in a recent SEC media day.
Chesney and Spurrier are friends for several years, I witnessed first public concert in 2007 in Columbia, South Carolina, when the country star hired football coach onstage serenade him with "Happy Birthday." Chesney also has a history with ESPN Films, which is co I -produced 2011 The Color Orange: The Condredge Holloway Story, a documentary about an hour the first African American to start at quarterback in the SEC. Another football movie, The Boys of Fall, Chesney had interviews with the likes of Troy Aikman, Brett Favre, John Madden, Joe Namath and Steve Spurrier, among many other heroes pigskin.
We are about a month away from the start of the college football season, and two months after the release of the new album Chesney. The Big Revival, his 16th studio LP, hit stores on September 23.
