Police: No Extra Patrols For Chesney Concert Despite Past Headaches

It will be a full and Kenny Chesney takes the stage Friday night at the Riverbend Music Center. The sold out show will attract thousands of fans. With so many people, there may be some problems for the police.

Fans Chesney Heinz Field in Pittsburgh on Saturday caused numerous headaches for the police.

Fans got out of hand at the show. There were more than 10 fights, many people were arrested and garbage was left everywhere.

About 75 people were arrested for various offenses in the fair. The offenses include disorderly conduct, public intoxication and aggravated assault. Authorities say on 150 people were treated at the concert of various injuries and another 45 people were taken to medical facilities.

Kenny Chesney performed in St. Louis on Thursday. There were no problems reported at the concert.

Cincinnati Police will be patrolling the area during the concert this Friday in Cincinnati. Police say they will not add any additional patrols and they expect the concert to go smoothly.

Fans attending Friday Chesney concert will also have to deal with traffic on I- 471 and the reconstruction of River Downs.

Due to the reconstruction of River Downs, all traffic must now enter concert through Coney Island gates 1 and 2 in Kellogg Avenue. The parking lots will be available at River Downs.

Also, due to construction on I- 471 south, take more time to travel or find an alternative route. Both exit # 71 -New Richmond and # 72 - Kellogg Avenue near the I -275 allow access to the front doors.
Leaving the place, remember to turn left or right (east or west) on Kellogg Avenue will lead to both directions on I- 275.
